You have probably heard by now that Universal is opening a new theme park on May 22, 2025. In addition to the new park, Universal is set to open three new Epic Universe hotels, bringing the total number of Universal Hotels to 11. These new accommodations will provide guests with a variety of experiences, from luxury stays to budget-friendly options, all within close proximity to the action.
A New Era in Theme Park Entertainment
Epic Universe is Universal’s most ambitious project yet, covering 750 acres—nearly doubling the size of the resort. Visitors will be treated to an immersive experience like never before, stepping into meticulously themed lands filled with cutting-edge attractions. Here’s what’s in store:
Super Nintendo World
Step into the vibrant universe of Mario and Luigi, where interactive rides and augmented reality experiences await. The land will include attractions such as Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge and Yoshi's Adventure, bringing beloved Nintendo games to life.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic
Experience a life-size recreation of the British Ministry of Magic, featuring the new ride Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry. This attraction takes guests on a thrilling chase involving characters like Harry, Ron, Hermione, and a new house-elf named Higgledy, as they pursue Dolores Umbridge through iconic locations within the Ministry.
How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk
Families will love the Viking-inspired adventures, filled with mythical dragons and playful attractions straight from the beloved DreamWorks film series. The area will feature attractions such as Hiccup's Wing Gliders, a launched roller coaster, and Fyre Drill, an interactive boat ride.
Dark Universe
Delve into the gothic realm of Universal's classic monsters in the Dark Universe land. Guests can explore Darkmoor Village, where iconic creatures like Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, and the Wolf Man come to life through innovative attractions and immersive storytelling.
At the heart of the park, a grand central hub will feature world-class dining, entertainment venues, and a spectacular nighttime show to cap off each day. Plus, an on-site hotel will allow guests to stay right in the middle of the action.
New Hotels at Epic Universe
Universal is introducing three unique hotels designed to complement the Epic Universe experience:
• Helios Grand Hotel (Opening May 22, 2025) – The flagship luxury hotel located inside Epic Universe, offering a dedicated park entrance and stunning views of the attractions. While it does not include Universal Express Pass, it features upscale amenities, Mediterranean-inspired dining, and a rooftop bar overlooking the park.
• Stella Nova Resort (Opening January 21, 2025) – A space-themed Prime Value resort, designed for guests looking for a stylish and affordable stay. It features cosmic-inspired decor, a large pool, and multiple dining options.
• Terra Luna Resort (Opening March 25, 2025) – A nature and exploration-themed Prime Value resort, offering a balance between adventure and relaxation. It includes outdoor activities, a zero-entry pool, and serene spaces for unwinding after a day at the parks.
All three hotels provide complimentary shuttle service to Universal Orlando Resort, including CityWalk, Islands of Adventure, and Universal Studios Florida.
A Major Boost to Orlando’s Economy
The impact of Epic Universe extends far beyond thrill rides and roller coasters. It is already fueling job creation, tourism, and real estate development at an unprecedented scale.
Thousands of New Jobs
The construction phase has already provided thousands of jobs, and once operational, Epic Universe is expected to create over 14,000 permanent positions in attractions, retail, hospitality, and more.
Billions in Economic Growth
With millions of additional tourists expected each year, economists project Epic Universe will contribute an estimated $11 billion to Orlando’s GDP over the next decade. This surge in visitors will benefit local businesses, restaurants, hotels, and retail stores, making Orlando an even more attractive investment hub.
Real Estate & Business Opportunities
The areas surrounding the park are already seeing an increase in demand for hotels, vacation rentals, and commercial properties. Investors and entrepreneurs have a unique opportunity to capitalize on this influx by:
• Developing new hotels and short-term rental properties
• Opening restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues
• Investing in infrastructure and logistics projects as the city improves connectivity around the park
